Looking for somewhere exquisite to stay while visiting Memphis? Well, we’ve got just the place.

Perched on the banks of the magnificent Mississippi River and close to the city’s many downtown attractions and sights, you will find the warmly appointed luxury boutique hotel, The River Inn of Harbor Town. This splendid mix of classy European charm and New Orleans-style tradition (albeit in Tennessee) has you feeling right at home the moment you arrive.

The lobby at The River Inn is a great place to hang out

The feeling you’re somewhere special hits home at check-in, when guests are offered a choice of champagne or wine to sip and enjoy in the comfortably furnished lobby area with its magnificent ornate fireplace. (Luxury Tip: Visit the lobby after 5:30pm, and you’ll be soothed by the sweetest of melodies played on the piano, too.)

And the sense of being spoiled doesn’t stop there, either. Morning to night, you’ll feel royally pampered. On each floor of the hotel you’ll find an intimate library area with cozy seating to partake in anytime. In the morning, you will find coffee there ready to help you start your day (tea is also available if you let them know at check-in).

At night, with the turn down service, you will be treated to a port wine and chocolate truffles. Decadent, delightful, and of course, well deserved!

If you can swing it, the Penthouse Nanchez Suite won’t disappoint

From the hotel’s deluxe rooms to the sprawling Penthouse suite (there are just 28 rooms between the hotel’s two buildings), each is luxuriously furnished. Features include beautiful walnut armoires, four-poster beds, Frette linens, luxurious duvets and fabrics, Gilchrist and Soames bath products, and perhaps most importantly, most rooms have a view of the Mississippi.

Great Dining at The River Inn of Harbor Town

There are several excellent food and drink choices available, too, from casual dining and craft beers at Tug’s to fine dining of Paulette’s Restaurant. Also worth visiting is the “little bar” located between Paulette’s and the lobby, where you can enjoy one of their signature drinks.

In addition, on the top floor you will find the delightful Terrace Rooftop Lounge with its lighter meal options and beautiful views of the Mississippi and downtown Memphis.

Included in the nightly rate, you will be treated to a full breakfast at Paulette’s, where we enjoyed eggs benedict and French toast with bacon. Breakfast was perfectly cooked and elegantly served. And if you feel you’ve eaten too much,

there is a small fitness area available, while across the street are three miles of trails along the Mississippi River.

Concierge Services and Amenities

There are also many extras that the hotel’s Concierge will be happy to help arrange for you. This includes having flowers in your room on arrival, arranging airport transportation, riverboat tours, Graceland tours, and so much more.

The Inn is also conveniently located only five minutes from downtown Memphis and its many attractions, including Beale Street with its entertainment district, the Memphis Rock ‘n’ Soul Museum, and the Mississippi River Park and Museum.

The hotel’s goals of having you leave feeling fully pampered and well taken care of was certainly achieved (and then some!), and the hotel team go out of their way to make sure every aspect of your stay is perfect at this welcoming luxurious boutique hotel.
